2020 Volkswagen Jetta and Jetta GLI Fuel Economy and Performance Specs
For many of us, good gas mileage is one of the main reasons to buy a vehicle. Spending less at the pump is something we all wish we could do. So, when it comes to an economy sedan like the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta, it makes sense to question how the Jetta stacks up.
Does the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta get good gas mileage?
2020 Jetta Fuel Economy
Every 2020 Volkswagen Jetta is EPA-estimated at 30-city/40-hwy mpg. This is thanks to the 148-horsepower 1.4-liter TSI four-cylinder engine. The turbocharger, along with the smaller displacement, allows for the engine to produce similar power levels as a bigger engine, while being smaller and consuming less fuel. The result is the incredibly affordable and fuel efficient 2020 Jetta. The Jetta S and R-Line trims come standard with a six-speed manual transmission. An eight-speed automatic transmission is also available. The Jetta SE, SEL, and SEL Premium trims are only available with the eight-speed automatic.
2020 Jetta GLI Fuel Economy
The performance-oriented 2020 Volkswagen Jetta GLI gains a massive boost in performance without losing too much in the way of fuel efficiency. The 228 horsepower 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine is EPA-rated at 25-city/33-hwy mpg. Both the Jetta GLI S and GLI Autobahn come standard with a six-speed manual transmission. The racing-spec seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automated-manual transmission is also available. The Jetta GLI features multiple other performance upgrades over its Jetta siblings: DCC adaptive suspension dampers, a VAQ limited-slip front differential lock, progressive variable-ratio steering, and much more.
