Unlimited Free Charging at Electrify America Stations
Your new VW ID.4 can be charged at home with an Electrify America charger or at an Electrify America charging station. Thanks to a partnership with Electrify America, owners of the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 will have access to free unlimited charging at any Electrify America station in the US. To be eligible for free unlimited charging, you must own a new (i.e. not pre-owned) ID.4 and have an Electrify America account. As of September 2020, there were currently 470 different Electrify America charging stations (adding to over 2,000 public DC fasting chargers) spread out in and between the East and West coasts. The number of stations will expand to 800 by December 2021, almost doubling the number of chargers.
How Long Does It Take to Charge?
The length of time is takes to charge your VW ID.4 depends on the type of charger. As you can see in the infographic to the right, a 30-minute charge provides with a 9.6kW home charger gives you 10-15 miles worth of juice. A 25kW home charger can do 30-50 miles in 30 minutes.
