The 2021 Jetta has great standard infotainment features. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility (with optional wireless capability), Bluetooth, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, two USB ports, and a Wi-Fi hotspot are standard. There are numerous upgrades on higher trims, such as an 8-inch touchscreen, the 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit customizable gauge display, Car-Net® remote services, integrated navigation, a wireless charging pad, and an 8-speaker BeatsAudio stereo system, among others.
Starting on the S Driver Assistance package and the SE trim, every 2021 Jetta has forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert. Upper trims get access to more driver assistive features, such as lane departure warning with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control (even on manual transmission models), fog lights, automatic high beams, and rain-sensing automatic windshield wipers. A rearview camera is also standard, regardless of trim.
The S, SE, R-Line, SEL, and SEL Premium trims all have a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder under the hood. It produces 147 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The S and R-Line trims come standard with a six-speed manual, though it can be switched out for an eight-speed automatic. The SE, SEL, and SEL Premium trims have the eight-speed automatic as a standard feature. The Jetta GLI models have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG.
