The Volkswagen Arteon is one of the newer additions to the Volkswagen lineup, joining during the 2019 model year alongside the Atlas. Last year, it was an excellent entry-level luxury vehicle for those that wanted a quality product rom a reliable brand. But what can you expect from the new model year?
Today, we’ll be taking a look at the 2020 Volkswagen Arteon. We’ll peek under the hood to examine the powertrain, see which safety features are present behind the wheel, and look at what infotainment and comfort features are on display.
Every 2020 Volkswagen Arteon has a 2.0-liter turbocharge four-cylinder engine. It produces 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers make for a high power-to-weight ratio. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The SE, SEL, and SEL R-Line trims have standard FWD and available 4Motion AWD. The top-tier SEL Premium only comes with 4Motion AWD.
The 2020 Arteon has your back. Literally. More driver assistive features are available, including lane keep assist, hands-free parallel park assist, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, a surround-view parking camera system, automatic high beams, and adaptive headlights.
Standard tech is one of many strong points for the 2020 Arteon. Every model comes equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, an 8-inch touchscreen, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and two USB ports. An integrated Wi-Fi hotspot, keyless entry, push-button start, tri-zone automatic climate control, an adaptive suspension, and heated front seats are also standard.
