The VW Beetle — which has been sold in the U.S. for nearly seven decades, is one of the most beloved nameplates of all time, with its iconic curvy silhouette, easy maneuverability, practical nature and cultural significance. The 2018 Volkswagen Beetle fuses the classic design elements of earlier generation Beetle models with a high-performance engine and many state-of-the-art technologies, enabling it to remain a top choice for the compact car segment. If you live in San Juan Capistrano or elsewhere in Orange County and would like to get behind the wheel of the 2018 Beetle, then be sure to contact us at Capistrano Volkswagen!
Under the hood of the 2018 Beetle is the 2.0-liter TSI EA888 engine, which is bigger than the previous model's 1.8-liter version, with higher levels of power and efficiency. It delivers an impressive 174 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, and a EPA-estimated highway fuel economy of 33 mpg. The 2018 Beetle also offers many advanced safety features, including the standard Automatic Post-Collision Braking, Intelligent Crash Response System and rearview camera, as well as available Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert and front and rear Park Distance Control.
Inside the 2018 Beetle, it offers surprising spaciousness, with 37.1 inches of rear-seat headroom, 41.3 inches of front legroom, and 55.3 inches of front shoulder room. It also offers a great deal of room for cargo, with 15.4 cu-ft of trunk space, which opens up to 29.9 cu-ft with the rear seats folded. In the Beetle Coast and above trims, you can enjoy a classic touch — the "kaeferfach" glovebox or “Beetle bin” in the dashboard. For all Beetle trims, you'll get power windows with one-touch up/down and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, shift knob and brake lever.
Volkswagen also gives you tremendous peace of mind with its new People First Warranty in the 2018 Beetle. The coverage includes a six-year or 72,000-mile (whichever occurs first) bumper-to-bumper New Vehicle Limited Warranty, which can be transferred to subsequent owners throughout its duration. This includes powertrain coverage for engines and transmissions. This coverage is considerably better than many of Volkswagen's competitors. For example, Honda, Toyota and Ford offer only a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty on their vehicles.
If you’d like to experience the latest incarnation of the iconic VW Beetle, then don't hesitate to get in touch with us at Capistrano Volkswagen!
