Volkswagen is an automotive leader for developing electric vehicle technology, with the all-electric VW e-Golf, and the all-electric Volkswagen I.D. concept vehicles that have been unveiled in recent years. Last week, Volkswagen announced a new addition to the I.D. lineup — the Volkswagen I.D. VIZZION concept sedan.

The Volkswagen I.D. VIZZION concept sedan — which will make its world premiere at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show — is the fourth model in the Volkswagen I.D. model lineup, which also includes the I.D. sedan, the I.D. BUZZ microbus and the I.D. CROZZ crossover SUV. It fuses beautiful styling with an all-electric powertrain, autonomous driving capabilities and other innovative technologies.
All-Electric Powertrain of I.D. VIZZION
The I.D. VIZZION is powered by an all-electric powertrain, with a 225-kW electric motor and a 111-kWh lithium-ion battery. It can reach a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph) and has a driving range of up to 665 km (413 miles).

Autonomous Driving Capabilities of I.D. VIZZION
The I.D. VIZZION drives autonomously. There isn’t a steering wheel or gas and brake pedals, so it essentially acts like a “digital chauffer.” All of the passengers are free to do other activities and enjoy the ride, while the I.D. VIZZION steers, drives and navigates autonomously. The I.D. VIZZION also comes with a virtual host, which communicates with the passengers and sets their individual preferences.
