One of the great things about Volkswagen is that they are continuously pushing the envelop of automotive design and technology, with a multitude of concept vehicles in the works. Recently at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show, Volkswagen unveiled the updated Volkswagen up! city car, which will soon be appearing on the market with an impressive variety of extra equipment and improved smartphone integration. Wide Range of Powertains

The Volkswagen up! offers a wide range of powertrains, with a choice between powerful gasoline engines, efficient natural gas or innovative electric power units. A number of models were on display at the Geneva International Motor Show–three equipment lines, a cross-version and the spacious, 2-seater load up!–as well as new exterior colors, seat fabrics, dashpads and decorative decal designs which give each up! its own individual character.

Innovative Technology

The new up! also offers an array of advanced technology. This includes smartphone integration, allowing access to navigation, music and vehicle data when used with the Volkswagen app. In addition, the “up! beats,” with a 300-watt sound system designed in collaboration with US audio specialists BeatsAudio, joins the lineup.

Volkswagen Concept Vehicles

In addition to the new up!, Volkswagen has recently unveiled a number of concept vehicles. The T-Cross Breeze made its global debut at the Geneva International Motor Show.  It’s a groundbreaking vehicle, for it’s the first open-top SUV in its class, while at the same time offers an affordable and unique convertible design with a raised seating position, giving driver and passengers a great view. Earlier in the year at CES 2016 in Las Vegas, Volkswagen unveiled the BUDD-e concept van, which is inspired by the classic VW Bus, while featuring cutting-edge technology and an all-electric powertrain.
