Children at Volkswagen Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Volkswagen Hosts a “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day”

Few things capture the imagination of children as much as cars, with the sense of adventure and freedom that cars represent. Recently, children had the opportunity to take their wonder of cars to the world of grown-ups and get a glimpse into the work of their parents, as Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) hosted a nationwide “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.”

“VWGoA’s participation in Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is important to not only the company but to our employees as it provides them the opportunity, as parents, to connect their life outside the office to the work they do every day. ” – Mike Beamish, EVP, Human Resources, VWGoA

Highlights of VW “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day”

With the recent “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day,” Volkswagen has now hosted the annual event for five years. VWGoA had nearly 400 VWGoA kids participate in the day at various locations across the county, with employees’ children visiting VWGoA offices for a glimpse into what their parents do each and every day. Each location had unique activities. From a DC United soccer clinic, racing building-block cars out of the back of the Volkswagen Atlas SUV, and a vehicle scavenger hunt, the VWGoA kids got to experience many aspects of the Volkswagen brand, while viewing the working environments of their parents.
