Volkswagen, which agreed to a multi-year presenting partnership earlier this year with U.S. Soccer, furthered its ties as the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks into high gear, as the automaker named U.S. Women’s National Team star Alex Morgan as a Brand Ambassador.
Volkswagen “Inspire” Video Spot with Alex Morgan
Alex Morgan, who plays Forward for the U.S. Women’s National Team, had an amazing five-goal performance in the record-breaking opening World Cup match against Thailand. Morgan’s ambassadorship role with Volkswagen starts with a video spot titled “Inspire,” highlighting how the athlete uses her platform to look out for the next generation of players and give back to the community.
“Alex Morgan is a strong, dedicated advocate for the sport of soccer, and has inspired millions over the past decade. Her efforts have proven when we pave the way for the next generation, we change their destination. Alex is a perfect brand ambassador for Volkswagen and will help us communicate our ‘Drive Bigger’ brand positioning, on and off the pitch.” – Jim Zabel, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Volkswagen of America
