The Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most iconic nameplates in the world. First arriving in the United States in 1949, it has earned the adulation of legions of enthusiasts across multiple generations. For the 2018 model-year, Beetle adds a new special edition Coast model, a larger and more powerful engine, additional new features across the trim lineup and a new People First Warranty. 

2018 Volkswagen Beetle Coast Features 

The Beetle Coast — which is based off the S trim — offers many exclusive design features. This includes a unique Deep Sea Teal exterior color option, a surfboard wood-look dashpad, cloth seating surfaces in “Pepita” houndstooth, Monster Mats and scuff plates. The Coast trim also comes standard with a sunroof and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert, while the available Lighting Package includes Bi-Xenon headlights, LED Daytime Running Lights, LED taillights and LED license plate lights.

Engine Specs of 2018 VW Beetle 

The 2018 VW Beetles offers improved performance as well. This comes courtesy of the new 2.0-liter TSI EA888 engine, which is bigger than the previous model’s 1.8-liter version, with higher levels of power and efficiency. It delivers an impressive 174 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, and a EPA-estimated highway fuel economy of 33 mpg. 

Volkswagen People First Warrant in 2018 Beetle 

Like most of the 2018 Volkswagen models, the 2018 Beetle comes with the new People First Warranty. The coverage includes a six-year or 72,000-mile (whichever occurs first) bumper-to-bumper New Vehicle Limited Warranty, which can be transferred to subsequent owners throughout its duration. This includes powertrain coverage for engines and transmissions.
