Features and Release Date of the 2017 VW Tiguan
With impressive turbocharged performance, premium craftsmanship, a refined ride and excellent tech features, the Volkswagen Tiguan is a compact crossover SUV that gives its owners a thoroughly enjoyable and sophisticated ride. While the Tiguan has achieved much success in Europe, it hasn’t made as much headway into the North American market. However, that is likely to change with the redesigned 2017 Tiguan, which includes new safety features, more interior space, and a bold new look.
Exterior Styling Changes
One of the pleasing updates to the new Tiguan is its exterior design. It possesses a new lower grille that features LED daytime running lights. The lower grille is now larger, and offers a trapezoidal design with three bars running the width, instead of the shorter, longer version on the previous model. The headlights have been redesigned as well, and flow with the new lines of the upper grille. Sharper lines also flow from the front to the back, which give the new Tiguan a more angular and bold appearance.
The interior of the 2017 Tiguan is also vastly improved as well. Notable changes in the cabin include a more cohesive center stack, more traditionally designed shift knobs and instrument cluster and better placement of the air vents and HVAC controls. Additionally, the 2017 Tiguan comes with more interior space as well.

With all of the superb new tech features in the 2017 Tiguan, it’s expected to be one of the world’s most technologically advanced SUVs. First, there are technologies like the 12.3-inch Active Info display (interactive, fully digital main instruments with five information profiles) and the head-up display that is being offered for the first time in a Volkswagen SUV. Second, the vehicle’s safety, convenience and connectivity have been taken to a new level by an array of driver assistance and infotainment systems.
While no official release date for the 2017 Tiguan has been announced by Volkswagen, it’s expected to go on sale towards the end of 2016.
