The Adventurous Performance of the 2017 Golf Alltrack
[bscolumns class=”one_half”]For the adventurer in all of us, the 2017 Alltrack is fit with volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. Rather than function as a traditional, permanent all-wheel drive, the 4MOTION system only applies switches to powering all four wheels when necessary and acts as a two-wheel drive model the remainder of the time. [/bscolumns][bscolumns class=”one_half_last”]The Alltrack also features and Off-Road Mode and Hill Descent Control to enhanced the ride of the wagon on surfaces other than pavement. The features work to smooth out the ride of the wagon on uneven and steep surfaces utilizing the Alltrack’s ABS configuration and other mechanical features. “We are honored that the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada found the Golf Alltrack so appealing,” said Hinrich J. Woebcken, CEO of the North American Region, Volkswagen, at the reveal of the award in Toronto. “The Golf Alltrack was designed to offer an affordable yet upscale alternative to other all-wheel-drive wagons, and we’re heartened by the reception in North America from customers and automotive enthusiasts alike.”
For a little kick under the hood, the 2017 Alltrack is also fit with a 1.8L TSI turbo engine. The block puts out rough 170 horsepower with 199 lb.ft. of torque. It even offers drivers ample efficiency levels with a fuel economy rating of 22 miles per hour in the city and 33 on the highway. You’ll have to determine for yourself its off-road mileage.
