2016 Volkswagen Passat vs 2015 Passat

The Volkswagen Passat has really made a name for itself in the industry, particularly for its versatile appeal. The Passat features a comfortable drive with a stylish design and efficient engine, so no matter what you’re looking for in your commuter car or family vehicle, the Passat’s got it covered. Since it was announced that the Passat will be receiving a big makeover for the 2016 model year, we here at Capo VW have been wondering how it will compare to the 2015 Passat (pictured). That’s why we’ve compiled this 2016 Volkswagen Passat vs 2015 Passat comparison with what we know so far of the new 2016 vehicle.

What we liked about the 2015 Passat

The new upgrade for the Passat is likely to bring with it a lot of great new features and capability. While we’re sure that it will feature a lot of improvements for the model, there are more than a few things that the 2015 Passat got right. Owners have remarked that the Passat offers one of the roomiest interior in the mid-size sedan segment. It features a maneuverable shape and an efficient engine.

Other aspects we enjoy from the 2015 Passat (pictured) are its three engine options – particularly the available TDI Clean Diesel option which achieves 44 mpg on the highway – and its extensive safety features. Volkswagen’s focus on safety in the 2015 Passat earned it a 2014 Top Safety Pick from IIHS.

Technology was also a plus in the 2015 Passat. This model came with Bluetooth connectivity as a standard, allowing drivers to have easy access to their contacts, music and other apps without having to pick up their phone.

As there has yet to be much news on the new Passat, our guess is as good as anyone else’s about how Volkswagen will approach these aspects. However, if we had to say, we think that Volkswagen will keep most of these features for the 2016 model, as they have been working well for it.
