New 2016 Tiguan
The Tiguan is Volkswagen’s staple compact SUV that offers plenty of space in its cavernous interior, while keeping it easy to maneuver. While it’s a great vehicle for carpoolers and families alike, it’s about time the VW Tiguan gets an upgrade. And that’s exactly what we’re seeing when when look at the photos of the heavily camouflaged 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan. The newest version of the Tiguan was spotted in the Alps, conducting towing tests.
This is the first spotting of the new Tiguan and though it was highly camouflaged, the production body still bears a resemblance to the Passat, the Cross Coupe CTE as well as the CrossBlue concepts. The 2016 Tiguan features a new grille and headlight treatment for a refreshed look. A more sporting roofline is featured on this model of the Tiguan with an aggressively raking D-pillar.
There’s no going around the fact that stylistically, the new 2016 VW Tiguan is very different from the current model. From a mechanics standpoint, you can expect that the new Tiguan will feature the usual selection of gas and diesel four-cylinder engines with both front and all-wheel drive optional. That being said, rumor has it that a new 300-horsepower R model could eventually be revealed.
